Supercharge Your Classroom with Improvisation
This highly energetic workshop provides educators with the tools necessary to provide an engaging, invigorating classroom atmosphere.
When asked to improvise people often get a terrified expression and say, "I can't do that!" However, when we think about it, we improvise daily.
In this workshop, teachers are engaged and asked to participate so they can become confident and comfortable guiding students with improvisational structures.
Exercises include improvisational activities that are targeted for grade K-12. Participants work on their feet, in small groups, on teams, and in demonstrations. Creative risks are encouraged and taken in a safe and structured environment.
Research shows that content plus emotion increases retention, and muscle memory that is gained through bodily-kinesthetic learning enriches the application of knowledge.
Teachers will leave with confidence and a menu of improvisational structures they can implement in their classrooms the next day.
